Congregation B’nai Torah Sisterhood Message
Celebrate – Cheer – Be Proud!
1998 – 2024: Congregation B’nai Torah Celebrates 26 Years!
Hopes and dreams, combined with dedication, hard work, and a commitment to action, have shaped our loving, warm, and welcoming congregation. As we celebrate our 26th anniversary, we are proud to recognize SISTERHOOD for being an essential part of this incredible journey and accomplishment.
As we have done in the past, Sisterhood will continue to be responsible for all of Congregation B’nai Torah’s food services. Our “Kitchen Angels,” under the leadership of the Catering Committee, will continue to provide for Friday night Onegs, Saturday morning Kiddushes, and any other events that arise, such as baby namings, Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations, Shiva trays, and all congregational dinners—including the first Seder, Break-the-Fast, and our Chanukah Lights and Latke Night.
Our “Kitchen Angels” are fantastic, but we need more helping hands. Many of our longtime volunteers are aging and aren’t able to contribute as they once did. If you’d like to join our team, please give Lea (673-0526) or Barbra Kosnick (985-705-1236) a call—we’d love to add you to our “Kitchen Angels” list! Even some of our husbands have stepped in to assist with setup, teardown, and general cleanup. We sincerely thank everyone who has helped us over the past 19 years, and we look forward to welcoming new “Angels” to our team.
A gentle reminder to all our teens: you are all Honorary Sisterhood members from your Bat Mitzvah through college graduation! We would love for you to get involved, and community service credit will be given for assisting in various ways, such as helping our “Kitchen Angels” with setting tables, cleaning up after events, and more. It’s a great way to give back and be a part of our community!
Let’s not forget our Sisterhood Judaica Shop, which offers a wide variety of gift items for all occasions. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, catalogs are available for you to browse. Simply call Lea at (673-0526) or our CBT Office at (672-1174), and we’ll be happy to assist you.
We can send a “Get Well” – hope you are feeling better—card, or a congratulatory Birthday, Anniversary card to one of our congregation members.
If you have any suggestions for programs you’d like Sisterhood to offer, please give us a call—we’d love to hear your ideas and see if we can make them happen. Remember, Sisterhood is only as strong as the members who work with us.
