Mission Statement
The Mission of the Religious School at Congregations B’nai Torah is to develop proud, practicing Jewish young adults who have the skills and responsibilities needed to transmit their knowledge and faith to future generations; who understand Jewish values, Jewish languages, Torah, the struggles and triumphs of Jewish history, and the Covenant with God; who are passionate about engaging in prayer, study and acts of loving kindness; and who are well-prepared to function as Jews in a predominantly non-Jewish suburban environment.
About our School
The theme of this year is Jewish Values and the importance of Tzedakah. We are happy to report that this year classes will be held twice a month on Sundays and in person. We celebrate all Jewish Holidays. Rabbi Kane provides Bar and Bat Mitzvah preparations to our pre-teen students.
Student involvement and attendance is encouraged for Friday night and Saturday morning services. Many of our students have the knowledge and skills to participate and lead both services. The congregation kvells, or simply swells with pride when our youngster’s participate and lead us.
As a congregation we are very proud of our young Jewish children for volunteering at the synagogue helping in many aspects of the Jewish Federation and as intelligent, caring young people within our community.
Children are the future of Jewish life and values.
