SISTERHOOD MESSAGE

CBT Sisterhood

Celebrate – Cheer – Be Proud!

1998 – 2021 Congregation B’nai Torah is 23 years old!

Hopes and Dreams, plans and action, dedication and hard work; all the ingredients for a loving, warm, welcoming Congregation. This has brought us to our 22nd  Anniversary.  SISTERHOOD is proud to be a vital part of this accomplishment.

As Sisterhood has done in the past, we will continue to be responsible for providing all of CBT’s food services. The “Kitchen Angels” under the very able leadership of our Catering Committee will continue with our Friday night Onegs and the Saturday morning Kiddushes, as well as whatever activities are called for, i.e., baby naming, future Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations, Shiva trays when needed, and all Congregational dinners (the first Seder, Break-the-Fast, and our Chanukah Lights and Latke Night). Our “Kitchen Angels” are fantastic—but more “Angels” are needed as many of us who have been “Angels” for the past number of years are aging and not able to do what we did previously ….. Soooo, if you would like to join us please just give Lea (673-0526) or Rita (290-2971) a call and we’ll be glad to add you to our “Kitchen Angels” list. Some of the husbands have even joined in to help with setting-up, tearing-down and general clean-up. Our sincere thanks go out to all who have assisted us in the past 19 years and we look forward to having new “Angels” join us.

A gentle reminder to all our teens  – an Honorary Sisterhood membership has been extended to all our teens from Bat Mitzvah through college graduation.  Community service credit will be given to those who assist us in various ways, i.e., helping the “Angels” by setting tables, cleaning-up after functions, etc.

Let’s not forget our Sisterhood Judaica Shop which has a vast variety of gift items for all occasions. If you don’t see what you are looking for, catalogs are available for your perusal. All you need to do is call either Lea  (673-0526) or our CBT Office (672-1174) and you will be helped.

A call to Bobbie Gordon (672-5414) will have her sending a “Get Well” – hope you are feeling better—card, or a congratulatory Birthday, Anniversary card to one of our members.

If you have any suggestions as to programs you would like to see Sisterhood have, give us a call and we’ll see if we can arrange it. But remember, Sisterhood is only as good as the members who work with us.

Our thanks to all who have been Sisterhood Officers, Trustees and members for doing such a great job and this year’s message will end by Wishing One and All a Very Happy and Healthy New Year!
