Rabbi's Welcome Message
Dear Friends,
As the Rabbi of this thriving congregation, it is my pleasure to welcome your interest in our efforts. We are attempting to build a unique spiritual community here in Northeast Central Florida. We worship in a style that is conservative, yet progressive and we have many specially-theme services throughout the year, including Storytelling Shabbat, Why We Pray, What We Pray, and Spirituality.
Our philosophy is one of inclusion, and we will do our best to help everyone in their efforts to live Jewish lives and to raise Jewish families. Our education program includes a variety of classes for children and adults and we specialize in making the journey of Jewish identity exciting and meaningful.
Please accept my invitation to join us for social events, for services, for educational programs or for one of our charitable events. The one Special thing we lack is your family.
Co-Presidents' Welcome Message
Welcome to Congregation B’nai Torah, a progressive conservative synagogue located in the heart of Ormond Beach, FL, established in 1998. Services are conducted every Friday evening and Saturday morning in person and via Zoom. We offer several other religious focused activities such as our Lunch and Learn which fare scheduled to follow Shabbat morning services, where we typically discuss in detail the Torah parashah (or portion) of the week.
We support and host the Shalom School school for children from preschool through high school. Our popular Tot Shabbats held monthly include singing, fun activities, and dinner. On special occasions we offer Friday night dinners prior to services.
Our spiritual leader, Rabbi S. David Kane, has served our congregation since its founding. If you wish to consult with the Rabbi in person, please feel free to call the synagogue office to schedule an appointment. Our congregation is vibrant and offers religious, social, and educational activities. These activities have included a Purim Carnival, movies with the Rabbi, Eat Laugh and Bid and Schnaps in the Sukkah to name a few.
All are welcome to join us for our services and activities, where you will feel the warmth of our congregation. If you are a current member, we look forward to seeing you again. If you are new to the area or just want to see what we’re about, please join us for any of our services or events.
Thank you for visiting our website. We look forward to seeing you soon.
